Their innovative approach not only included local payment methods but also provided direct access to Lufthansa’s flight content, which could significantly lower distribution costs and open the door to new international markets. Next, the collaborative effort of SWISS and Digital Hangar caught the jury’s eye with a project aimed at enhancing Travel-ID via Web3 wallet integration. Lastly, the Hotelplan team introduced a creative solution for group travel bookings. While all the projects showcased impressive advancements, the jury found Carbify’s solution to be particularly heartwarming, earning the title of "Winner of the Hearts." Their project exemplified how the Camino Network could significantly aid in CO₂ reduction. It offered full traceability of compensation activities, even identifying the specific geolocation of each tree planted as part of carbon offset initiatives. Mickael Woelcke, project manager at SWISS and one of the driving forces behind the hackathon, expressed enthusiasm about the outcomes. He noted the impressive speed with which teams integrated Lufthansa Group flight content into their platforms, achieving this feat in just two days. Woelcke highlighted the commercial potential of these technological advancements, emphasizing that the industry must now transform these innovations into market-ready solutions.

Pablo Castillo, CEO of Chain4Travel and the mastermind behind the Camino Network, echoed Woelcke’s sentiments. He pointed out how previously lengthy connection processes, which could take months to establish, were completed in a fraction of that time during the hackathon. He provided striking statistics indicating that new solutions could lead to up to 98% cost savings compared to traditional distribution channels and an impressive 50% improvement in sustainability metrics associated with Carbonify’s analysis.
